   It is a food suitable for children. It's not difficult, but it's a warm filling and easy hidden area night recipe. Preparation time is usually limited by how fast your can opener works and how difficult your meat is to open. The big bonus is that it's a complete one-pot meal, so you can eat as long as you like without a fork.

   Hidden Valley ship dinner

   Ingredients

 

   1 pound lean ground beef


   1 (7.25 ounce) package macaroni and cheese mix


   1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes


   1 cup of milk


   1 cup frozen peas


   1 cup frozen corn


   1 teaspoon seasoning salt or to taste


   1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

   Instructions

   Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef in the hot oven for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring, until browned.


   Stir the pasta and cheese mixture from the macaroni and cheese package into the beef. Add the tomatoes, milk, peas and corn to the beef mixture. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium, cover pan, and cook until noodles are tender, about 12 minutes.


   Season the dish with seasoned salt. Stir about half of the cheddar cheese into the dish to melt. Top with remaining cheese.

   Cook's Notes:


   So this is a good version, but it's better to use pasta shells and cheese with something ready to eat. It will be basically the same, but add milk as you will need it along with the tomato juice to cook the noodles.


   For variety you can add plain tomatoes and a cup of frozen prepared Italian seasoning, garlic, onion, and parsley. You get the idea: the combinations are pretty much limitless.


   But this recipe calls for frozen vegetables and uncooked meat in the Hidden Valley Ship's Dinner, but leftovers work, too.


   If you like a little spice in your easy dinner, use Creole-style seasoning salt.

  1/05/2020 He needed more time and more liquid to cook the Hidden Valley ship's dinner. I added the beef broth I had uncovered - cooked until the noodles were done. I missed it but much better. A nice step back from my childhood comfort food
